After a busy Friday, Obamas take break to attend daughter's extracurricular event
A Supreme Court announcement, a swearing-in ceremony. And then his daughter's after-school activity.
It was a typical busy Friday for President Barack Obama, who joined the first lady after a full day of work to attend one of their daughter's extracurricular events.
Shortly after a ceremonial swearing-in for his Commerce and Health and Human Services secretaries, the president and first lady Michelle Obama took a 40-minute motorcade to Bethesda, Maryland. The motorcade stopped near Imagination Stage, a children's theater arts organization.
Police blocked off the road in front of the theater and crowds of onlookers gathered nearby.
One of their daughters, 7-year-old Sasha, attends a private school in Bethesda.
