Working closely with the product team, front-end developers design and implement the presentation layer of all of Inform’s products and systems. There are many ways to interact with Inform products: from internal tools to external interfaces for our customers to consumer-oriented web properties. Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated site implementation experience including portfolio or reference sites
- Expert level knowledge in HTML and CSS
- Experience working with Javascript frameworks (jQuery, Dojo)
- Experience using version control systems (SVN)
- Experience with site performance profiling and optimization
- Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator desirable
- Strong verbal communication skills and proficiency with English

Working closely with the product team, software engineers turn company vision into product reality. Software engineers are responsible for all phases of the product lifecycle: collaborating with technical leads on architecture and design, implementation, and testing of Inform services and applications. We are a small team, so you will be responsible for significant parts of the system. There will be some big challenges but there will also be some decidedly non-glamorous work as well; we promise that you will grow with the former and that the latter won’t kill you. And you will have a lot of fun in the process.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of object oriented programming and design patterns
- Solid understanding of algorithms and algorithmic complexity
- Experience implementing software systems in a number of languages, including C++, Java, or scripting languages
- Experience with Python and Django desirable
- Experience with Linux / MySQL / Apache desirable
- Strong verbal communication skills and proficiency with English

Technical leads play a critical role on the team. They need to understand our product and company strategy and then select technologies and design an architecture that will power that strategy today and into the future. But this is not a whiteboard-only job. Technical leads also play a key role in implementing the architecture including the design and development of Inform core services, service APIs, and web sites. Most of our projects are team efforts, so in addition to your individual contribution you will be leading small teams on focused technology initiatives. And finally, you’ll have a lot of fun working in a great environment and tackling some big challenges for the company and its customers.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Expert knowledge of object oriented programming and design patterns
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of programming languages. Expert proficiency in at least one of C++ or Java plus scripting languages.
- Demonstrated experience designing and building highly scalable web applications
- A strong analytical approach to solving problems
- Track record of delivering outstanding products with small teams
- Prior experience with the following technologies are highly desirable: Hadoop, Lucene / Solr, Memcache
- Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) providers desirable
- Experience profiling system performance and addressing bottlenecks
- Strong verbal communication skills and proficiency with English
- A passion for building great products with an emphasis on teamwork

The Coordinator of Business Development for Inform Technologies is a newly created position responsible for negotiating a variety of online partnerships with content providers and other types of business development. The Coordinator of Business Development will work on a full suite of strategic business development activities. He/she will work closely with the Inform Management Team.
The position will be located at Inform’s Headquarters in NYC.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Create process and routines to increase efficiency and effectiveness of Business Development
- Develop and execute action plans
- Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals for prospective partners
- Work with cross-functional working teams ensuring seamless integration of program development and execution
- Document best practices and communicate accomplishments
- Collaborate with senior marketing & product leadership team to optimize partnerships
- Secure meetings with decision-makers within targeted companies
- Negotiate and close relationships with potential partners
- Communicate back to internal team the outcome of negotiations/proposals, conveying and clearly communicating details, expectations, and timeframes
Qualifications
- Keen interest in business development and Internet startups
- Knowledge of Internet news, information and entertainment sites
- Experience (internships, classes) in marketing and/or sales
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- Outstanding organizational, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Internally driven and possessing an infectious fun attitude
- Bachelor’s degree
