The Software Engineer will be based in Atlanta, GA at Inform’s headquarters, and will report to the VP of Engineering. S/he will be responsible for software development and participate in system architecture. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing software applications as well as web services platforms.

  • You conduct yourself with a high degree of integrity.


  • Bachelor of Science degree (or greater) in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of JavaScript experience
  • Solid understanding of basic web technologies (HTML, CSS), and an adept understanding of native JavaScript without third-party libraries
  • Experience writing Object-Oriented JavaScript and with commonly used JavaScript libraries/frameworks (such as jQuery, Angular, Prototype, Dojo, Backbone, or YUI)
  • Comfortable with code versioning software, such as Git or SVN
  • Self-directed team player who stays up-to-date with new technologies, best-practices, standards, and available frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to write professional and precise documentation, including documenting general concepts on shared wiki pages as well as inline code comments where appropriate
  • Mindful of performance issues and is able to code JavaScript that conservatively uses a browser’s resources

Additional Qualifications

  • Modular coding practices (such as AMD) using frameworks like RequireJS or CommonJS
  • Writing unit tests for JavaScript
  • Continuous integration principles/software, such as Bamboo
  • Test-driven development (TDD)
